Ideation
In this design challenge, I compiled five images of myself and five images of my mom into moving GIFs. For each GIF, I wrote a haiku to describe the subject in a few words. The portrait images that I used for both my mom and myself are representational of how we approach living every day.

When thinking about what kind of portraits to take, I thought about five traits that stood out of each of us. For my mom, she mostly pointed out hobbies and things she does every day - for example, things such as cooking, sewing, and watering plants. For her poem, I decided to write about how she comes across to others, as what she does on a day-to-day basis is not the only thing special about her.
For my own portraits, I thought about hobbies and personality traits that stood out. I approached my poem as a way to connect these portraits of myself.
Portraits
These are the five portraits that I took of my mom and myself, following the themes that I found through the ideation process.
