Our goals for week 4 were:

  • Find other children to test on besides family

  • Start scheduling user testing with Ruhan

  • Rewrite interview questions to be less leading

  • For round 3 of HX testing, compare another children's book to the interactive pop-up book to see if they find it more engaging

  • Download the program to use the vinyl cutter

  • Meet sometime this week to work on more paper circuit pop-ups

We were able to make progress this week on some pop-up page and circuit prototypes:

As for user testing, Ruhan will get back to us on some potential elementary school children who we could run user tests on. When that happens we'll need to write an email introducing ourselves and our project to be approved.

Here are some revised interview questions for future user interviews:

  • Were there any parts or words that you had trouble understanding?

  • What did you think of the story?

  • How do you feel about the length of the story?

  • What was the message of the story? Do you think Willie did the right things to convince Bucky to be his friend?

  • What would you do in Willie's place if someone like Bucky was being mean to you?

  • What do you think about Willie as a character? Is there anything you wish was different about him?
