User Feedback

For my app prototype, I was looking for UI/UX feedback from potential users. To get this feedback, I shared the Figma prototype with four users. To guide the feedback process, I made a Google Form with interview questions that I sent to online users to fill out, while I filled it out myself for in-person users as I asked them the questions. One of the users I reached out to couldn't respond in time for this milestone, so I'll be getting more feedback from them later on. Results of feedback here.

In general, the users I interviewed liked the idea of the app when they discovered that it could calculate the nutritional value of the overall recipe. Without this information, the users initially thought it was an app to just save recipes and ingredients. Some UI improvements included making the drop-downs and buttons bigger so that they're easier to open, and removing the extra page with the two buttons that emulate the tab bar buttons. Some features to add include the ability to add custom ingredients and display nutritional information for individual ingredients.

Lessons Learned

Based on this feedback, I need to somehow make the nutritional information for the recipes more visible, since it is the main purpose of the app. For the buttons, I need to make sure that they're big enough for people with bigger fingers to tap.

In terms of time management, I created the interview questions and sent out the prototype to online users on Saturday. I suppose the fourth user might have been able to give feedback sooner if I sent it earlier, however due to other circumstances that the user informed me about they probably wouldn't have been able to give feedback on time regardless of the date I sent it. I will also consider the feedback that I eventually get from them.

There was nothing to change in terms of my idea, because the users who gave me feedback thought it would be useful, which means that there exists users who would find my app useful. I just need to make sure that my app delivers on its main purpose, which is to calculate the nutritional value of recipes made with the user's preferred grocery ingredients.
